While I am burdened with the popular affliction of “too many eggs in too many baskets” (in other words, being vaguely interested in too many things at once), one major interest I have is in the study of generations, and how they change and interact. Bit of weird one but, as most people, I’m a bit obsessed with labels. And in particular, the labels we put on those born at certain times, to try and determine their social standing.
And from what I’ve read, its weirdly accurate. The labeling, I mean. Even if the research is all being done by one particular generation. But I’m not bitter or anything. So, to take the research I’ve seen and add my own perspective on it, here’s my low-down to the generations… or a few of them, at least.Read More »
Hey, hi, hello there. Without waffling too much like always, here’s a blog post about why Trichotillomania isn’t self harm. You’re welcome.
If you’ve read my posts before, hopefully you’ll be aware (and if you weren’t aware then um… surprise) that I suffer with a disorder called Trichotillomania. This is an Impulse Control Disorder (or ‘ICD’ (not to be confused with the ‘International Classification of Disorders and Diseases’ which is a big ass book about all sorts of stuff)) that causes the sufferer to have the uncontrollable urge to pull out their own hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, etc. Man, that was a mouthful.Read More »
When I heard that creator and star of one of my all time favorite love-to-hate shows had written a memoir, I instantly knew I just had to have it. Not That Kind of Girl is a bestseller written by none other than the infamous love-to-hate Lena Dunham.Read More »
So I thought, in the spirit of the occasion (and I’m sorry if you’re a hater), I thought for the infamous V Day, I’d give a bit of worldly advice for those love-struck fools who aren’t feeling the festivities this year. Also mainly for those who are just beginning a relationship, and aren’t sure how to go about it.Read More »
Now I’m no beauty or lifestyle guru. I’m not one of those bloggers. I’d like to be, don’t get me wrong. They seem to have their lives together (you know what I mean?). But no, not one of those and I don’t think I’ll turn into one. I don’t have the patience for a load of makeup, nor the type of life anyone’s particularly interested in…
As promised, in this post I will be talking about my employment working with the cosmetics company LUSH. I’ve spoken about it a lot, both on this blog and to other people (who are probably sick of me talking about it by now) but I wanted to put my whole experience into one place, and hopefully let others know (who may be considering working for this company in the future) how I found it and to help them. So here we go…
My last post was a little rant-y, and I didn’t mean it to be. If I came across as miserable and a downer on New Years, I apologize. Like I said, I really do get it, I understand it. So to backtrack and join the camaraderie, here’s a list of stuff I’d like to do or improve on in the next year. Some will be personal, some general, but maybe at the start of 2017 I can look back and say I’ve become a happier person. Let’s hope so!
I get new years resolutions. I really do. I get that everyone secretly makes them, and everyone pretty much fails them, unless they’re some sort of God or sorcerer or something. And it’s completely normal to make a goal and maybe not reach it, especially on January 1st.
There’s all this hype about New Years and beginning afresh.Read More »
Hello again! I know, three posts in three days… try not to have a heart attack. I’m shocked too.
Anyways so, if you lot are like me at this time of year and 1) leave everything til the last minute, gift-wise and 2) never know what to get until sporadic and random moments of inspiration hit, which may or may not happen, then you might need some help.
Christmas is all about giving, they tell us. Bollocks. It’s about giving, sure, but it’s also about stressing yourself silly over things that people probably wont even take much notice of in the excitement of the big day.
So I’m here to calm your stressing heads with some little ideas for the lovely people in your life.Read More »
